Details: Born in England in 1942, but father was killed in the war. My mother and I lived with my Grandmother (whose husband also died suddenly.) Mummy and I travelled every summer to the continent and spent time in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, etc. I attended a girl's private boarding school in Arundel, Sussex and then spent a year as an au pair in France after leaving school, looking after three children on a farm and learning French. After that, secretarial school and my first job on The Guardian newspaper - which lasted nine years. I left to travel to East Africa for over three months with a friend and we camped all around three countries - fabulous! Back in London, I decided to emigrate to Australia and met my husband in Brisbane after more than a year, so we married in Brisbane and were surprised to be shipped back to the US for his job. Had three children, Sara, Matthew and Michelle and we lived in Clarendon Hills, outside Chicago. After my husband died, I moved to Kent, CT. Children all married now and Sara has two boys. I left Kent in 2007 to seek warmer climes and landed with my son Matthew in Scottsdale, AZ. For the past year and a bit I have been house sitting in California and Arizona for many wonderful people and in many lovely places. After I return from Australia, who knows? The world is my oyster!
